Location

Proms on the Pier 2017 returns to the Albert Pier, St Peter Port.

Event schedule

The running order for the evening as as follows:

 

5pm  Movie shown on the big screen and

 

6pm  Bar tent & food concession opens

 

7.30pm  Guernsey Symphonic Winds in concert featuring The Guernsey Welsh Male Voice Choir 

 

9pm approx.  BBC coverage of the Last Night of the Proms on the big screen

 

10.30/40pm approx.  Fireworks 

 

10.45pm End of event

 

Food and drink

The following catering concessions will be serving at Proms on the Bay 2016 from 5pm.

​

Cobo Catering will be offering traditional fish & chips, burgers, hot dogs etc.

​

RW Randall Operate a full bar with indoor seating area which will be offering a selection of beers, lagers, ciders, wines & Pimms from 5pm until 11.30pm.  They will also operate a BBQ grill offering hamburgers & sausage baguettes. 

 

Seating

500 seats will be available on a first come first served basis.  There will also be space for blankets to be laid out or your own fold up seats to be brought along too.

 

Toilets

There will be a number of portable toilet units including accessible toilets, located on the pier.  The nearest public toilets are located at the Bus station and also include a RADAR key accessible toilet.

Parking restrictions & Road Closures

Please note that the following parking restrictions will be in place to enable set up of the Guernsey Proms:

 

Albert Pier - Closed in its entirety from 6pm on Friday 8th September.  Please make sure all vehicles are removed as any vehicles remaining will be removed at the owners expense. 

​

Weather

There is very little cover so please dress appropriately and bring extra laters for later in the evening.

 

Parking

Public Parking including the usual blue badge parking bays will be available as usual throughout St Peter Port (excepting on Albert Pier) including Havelet, La Vallette, The Albany/Bus Terminus, Castle Emplacement, Crown Piers as well as North Beach and Salarie car parks. 

​

Fireworks

There will a firework display at approximately 10.30/40 depending on the finishing time of the BBC coverage of the Last Night of the Proms.  The display will last approximately five minutes.

 

Litter

Please use the litter and recycling bins provided or take your litter home with you.

 

Pets

Please do not bring dogs to the event.
